Live cost-per-click ranges for any keyword, straight from the Google Ads Keyword Planner — then re-priced for your Quality Score, because Google charges every advertiser a different rate for the same click. Free, no account needed.
How Google actually prices a click
01
Ad Rank decides position
Ad Rank = your CPC bid x your Quality Score. A $2 bid at QS 8 outranks a $5 bid at QS 3.
02
You pay to clear the ad below
Actual CPC = (Ad Rank of the advertiser below you / your Quality Score) + $0.01 — not your full bid.
03
Quality Score sets your rate
Because Quality Score divides the price, QS 10 pays ~30% under the market rate and QS 1 pays up to 7x over it.
04
Raise QS, cut CPC
Tighter ad groups, ads that match the query, and faster landing pages raise QS — the only CPC cut that also improves position.
Frequently asked questions
What is CPC in Google Ads?
CPC (cost per click) is what you pay when someone clicks your ad. In Google Ads it is set by an auction: your bid and Quality Score compete against every other advertiser on the keyword, and you pay just enough to beat the Ad Rank of the advertiser below you.
Where does this CPC data come from?
Straight from the Google Ads Keyword Planner API — the same live source advertisers plan against. You get each keyword’s average CPC, its low and high top-of-page bid range, competition level, and twelve months of real search volume.
How does Quality Score change my CPC?
Ad Rank = CPC bid x Quality Score, and your actual CPC is the Ad Rank below you divided by your Quality Score. That makes price scale with 1/QS: against the average advertiser at QS 7, a score of 10 is roughly a 30% discount and a score of 1 is up to a 600% premium.
Why does CPC move month to month?
Auction pressure. More searchers means more advertisers competing for the same positions, so seasonal demand pushes CPCs up. Google only reports one average CPC per keyword, so this tool models the monthly line from each month’s real search volume, clamped to the keyword’s observed bid range.
Is this CPC calculator free?
Yes. No account, no card. We built it because most CPC benchmarks online are stale spreadsheets — this one asks Google.
